Some FAQ’s about our summer program:
We have offerings for ages 6-17 each week, for 10 weeks of summer. Students work in small groups in areas that interest them. They don’t need to sign up with a friend; because our kids are awesome. They’ll make friends here.
Summer workshop hours All summer workshops meet Monday – Friday either 9:30-noon or 12:30- 3:00. Students enrolled in both a morning and an afternoon workshop bring a lunch and make it a full day!
Extended Day is available from 8:00-9:30 am and from 3:00-5:00 pm during summer workshops. The cost for extended care is $30/week per child per AM or PM session. A separate registration is required for each session. Register for Extended Care by finding your summer week’s session in the ‘Extended Day’ heading in the sidebar column listing summer classes.
Cancellation Policy Please register carefully. We will notify you if WE cancel a class. We will offer an alternate class and if your child cannot attend another class we will refund the class fee in full. If YOU cancel a class at least two weeks before the class begins we will refund the class fee, less a $25 processing fee. If you cancel at least one week before the class begins we will refund 50% of the fee. We cannot refund the fee if you cancel less than one week before the first day of class.
Safety Policy The goal of Leonardo’s Basement is to create a fun, engaging and safe learning environment. Students will be supervised at all times. However, the potential for accidents remains. It is the responsibility of the student and the parent to read the student safety guidelines on the Leonardo’s Basement web site at www.leonardosbasement.org/1history.php prior to attending a class. Signing the registration form is an acknowledgement that you have read the Student Safety Guidelines.
Friday Builders is a one-day opportunity for students who want the Leonardo’s experience, but can’t make it to a summer workshop. Choose 9:30-noon or 12:30-3:00 any week of summer.
Experience: No experience necessary for most workshops. Students do need to be Group Ready. If your student requires extra support at school, they may require extra support here. Please contact us if you have questions.
Repeats: You can do any workshop more than once. Our workshops are student driven; if it’s a tool or material of interest, you won’t regret more time with it!
